Author bio

Marcia J. Treadway is a retired journalist who has interviewed and written numerous feature articles on people living in Bellbrook and Sugarcreek Township, Ohio, for a national newspaper. One story she wrote featured Jim “Pee Wee” Martin, a former US Army paratrooper who served in the 101st Airborne Division/506th PIR/3rd Battalion/G Company during World War II. Marcia also facilitated Jim’s participation and appearance (at the age of ninety-nine) in several television and social media public service announcements for the office of Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted of Ohio during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

Her ongoing service to local veterans earned her an induction to the 2022 Class of Distinguished and Honorary Members of the 506th Infantry Regiment (Department of the Army), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Being away from organized religion for forty years, Marcia has recently joined a faith community. Recognizing her desire for a communal expression of faith, she is now a member of the Episcopal Church. Despite her many afflictions, she lives by the words “Don’t define yourself from your tragedy but from your blessings.” In essence, she says, “God defines us all.”
