Transcending the Heart

At the age of fifty-five and a grandmother, Marcia Treadway didn’t seem like the type to pursue a career in ghost hunting. After all, she was a skeptic. Yet, there she was in Bellbrook, Ohio doing just that.

Ghost hunting was known for those who craved the sensation of thrill-seeking—lusting after the adrenaline rush at the onset of being frightened out of one’s wits. That wasn’t for Marcia. But when her instincts as a reporter led her to investigate phenomena that had no earthly explanations, her skepticism turned to fascination. She couldn’t discount other people’s stories after witnessing a few bizarre happenings firsthand.

As Marcia continued her research, she risked everything—her integrity, her virtue, her safety, and her soul. In the process, she made an extraordinary discovery that would help her embrace her sense of connection beyond the physical world.

Both gripping and inspirational, Transcending the Heart: When God Sent Me the Ghosts will captivate anyone who suspects there’s something beyond the universe than what we can see or touch.

Short excerpt from the book

House of Mirrors

Coincidence had nothing to do with the fact that I would visit that same house twice this day. We had an investigation planned for the evening, but a daytime walkthrough was scheduled to familiarize ourselves with the clients’ home. Two other investigators and I marveled at the allover beauty of the property, which sported a large pond, complete with a deck that jetted out almost to the middle by the large fountain, and a guest cottage that doubled as an art studio.

We stood before the large red doors in silent admiration. With no doorbell in sight, we used the ornate knocker to announce our arrival. The door quickly opened, and there stood a lovely woman with blond hair and fair skin; red lipstick made her big smile glisten. “Hello!” said Lisa, as she motioned for us to enter. Lisa was a client before she became an investigator herself.

“Honey, the ghost hunters are here,” she said, as her husband joined us in the foyer. After everyone exchanged pleasantries, we began hearing about the history of the house, its custom build with reclaimed materials, and the plethora of antiques throughout.

… Then came the stories of the ghostly events that the homeowners had encountered.

“I could not put this book down! Marcia is a top-notch investigator and a top-notch author! She recounts some of her most interesting paranormal investigations and what really goes down on a ghost hunt, to her very real and personal loss of her son and how she survived.”

“As an engineer and a reserved skeptic, I was intrigued but guarded by the idea of a non-fictional ghost story. But as the back story came together, and the investigations became more elaborate, it became more difficult to be quite so skeptical. When the same phenomena occurred with various unrelated individuals, on multiple occasions at multiple locations, I had to concede there seemed to be something going on there. I found that as each chapter passed, I wanted to move on to the next. I did not read it in one sitting, but as I got to the last fourth of the book, I found I had to finish it. I could not put it down!”
